Passionate About Home Life

Bristol is home to Banksy, the Balloon Fiesta, BBC Natural World, Blue-glass, Blackbeard, world-class universities and much much more. As a result of this, and other great stuff, Bristol is often cited as one of the UK’s most desirable cities to live, work, study and play in.
Thanks to Bristol’s growing reputation over the last few years there’s been a boom in new businesses and people who have relocated to and now call Bristol home. Whilst this has been great for many parts of the city, this growth has not been inclusive. For example, one of the negative impacts has been the increased pressure placed on the available housing stock resulting in rising house-prices and demand for both affordable and social housing. At the same-time the city has also seen a significant rise in homelessness leading to it having one of the highest rough-sleeper rates in the country.
Having a place called home is a basic human right, so BeOnBoard are proud to announce that we have partnered with several leading local organisations who are dedicated to making a positive difference to people’s quality of life through housing and their life’s at home.
We have teamed up with Solon South West, United Communities and Home Start Bristol. All three of these organisations are looking for the next generation of leaders to help strengthen the diversity of their boards with enthusiastic, community-minded people from all walks of life. While they are not necessarily seeking applicants with previous board-level experience, they do require people who represent the wider world that we live in and are passionate about providing quality homes and building resilient communities. They are also open to applications from under-represented BAME groups. So, if your interested in social housing, homelessness, rough-sleeping, domestic violence, food banks, fuel poverty, gentrification, social cohesion, place-making, town-planning or community development etc, read on to find out more about these amazing organisations and the available roles.
